DID YOU FIND OUR QUEEN?

Now that you can see the Queen, hopefully you will notice the differences. Here are the key things to look out for:

• She is visibly bigger than the bees around her and her abdomen is longer with a pointed end

• She has shorter wings that only reach approximately halfway down her abdomen whereas the others around her are almost to the end

• She looks shinier and sleeker. The queen’s back tends to be shiny and hairless, compared with the fuzzier backs of worker bees.
