On Farm Workshop: Introduction to Beekeeping

Join Jim Riach and Kat in this beginner course to learn the basics of how to keep bees and how beekeeping is beneficial for your garden!

There is no other creature on our farm that contributes as much as our bees do.  From pollinating our plants, making honey and wax to being just a joy to behold, bees have been the single greatest investment we have made to the health and wellbeing of the farm.

Keeping bees isn't as simple as just putting them in their hive and letting them do their thing.  Bees require help and maintenance to thrive.

Over the course format for the day is as follows:

  • Welcome with coffee, tea and homebaking

  • Introduction to beekeeping

  • A hearty farm lunch and likely some cuddles with kittens

  • Hands on beekeeping

  • And we finish the workshop with a wee chat over coffee and tea and more home baking treats - and likely, also, more wee animal cuddles

Beekeeping suits will be made available.

Workshop presented by Jim Riach from Trossachs Biking and Bushcraft.

We follow stringent COVID guidelines and have in place extra cleaning and disinfecting procedures. We have indoor and outdoor seating for tea and coffee and ask that while inside of the farm shop or workshop space, you keep your mask on until seated.

If you would like to give this workshop as a gift, simply select one of the gift voucher options.

Cost: £85
