Sock season

A few weeks after I started first grade, my mother was called in to speak to my teacher, Mrs. Westercamp. There were a few points of discussion, amongst them were the fact that I refused to wear socks. My lack of foot undergarmentry wasn't deemed conducive to learning and my mother was urged to take the matter in hand.

She did not.

Becky Goldin wasn’t concerned in the slightest and reassured Mrs Westercamp that come the cold weather, I would sheath my feet. Any lack of learning on my part was probably because I would rather be reading than doing math and had absolutely nothing to do with my feet.

To this day, I only wear socks about 6 months of the year, timed almost perfectly with the change of the clocks. And like clockwork, in the last week I have donned all the knitwear from head to literal toe.

Its good timing as it has been the perfect attire to spend curled up on the sofa putting the finishing touches on Issue 02 of Life in the Making Quarterly. All the cooking (and eating) is done. Photos have been edited. The copy editor has gone through the text and I just have the opening essay to write (the notoriously hardest part) and to cut 2 pages some how.

We have published the full table of contents and recipe list and I have to say its a good one. We have eaten the cabbage rolls (pictured above) about 4 times this month.

We will be placing the print order on Tuesday, so if you were hoping to snag a copy of Issue 02, grab one now!

And the best way to ensure we can plan for print runs is to grab a subscription.  It really helps us plan.

Ok. I am off to have cold cabbage roll for breakfast...

All the best!!
