Schedule for Forth Valley Open Studios
I am excited to be participating in the Forth Valley Open Studios, featuring both my work as a crochet designer and a photographer. I am open on the 9th and 10th of June from 10-5 and on the 11th of June 12-5.
There will be a range of activities running throughout the 3 days:
Photobooth: what better way to see crochet designs in action than actually trying them on? Grab a prop and get your photo taken. Photos will be emailed to the participants after the weekend.
Basics of Crochet: a quick taster of crochet, the kinds of things you can make and we will cover the basic chain and one stitch.
Yarn Dying: Learn how to dye wool with child-safe acid dyes
Spinning: Short discussion on the basic principles of spinning with a demonstration
Displays: the designing process, multi-media displays on Capturing Childhood, as well as photographs, patterns and finished objects
Refreshments: Cupcakes provided by Mary Grace Cakes.
Children are more than welcome, all of the workshops are child-friendly and kids will have their own studio to make some art of their own. Please note there was a mistake in the venue listing and we are sadly not wheelchair accessible. Directions to the venue are available here
The guide below is just a loose outline of what will be happening during the weekend. I am happy to discuss any aspect of my work throughout the 3 days. Workshops will be limited to 4-5 participants, but kits to buy will be available throughout the event.
