Friday 5: Treasure Trail

One of the best things for me about the internet for me is the wayit leads you from gem to gem along the web.  This week's trek was a particularly inspiring one...here's how it went:

Suna's blog is one of my favourites...I am always in awe of her lovely garden, snow sculptures and woodland walks.  Well, her post on Thursday led me to:

1. These fab cereal box journals ... I am a lover of recycling, as you know, and I think these are some of the nicest handmade journals I have seen

2.  Well, the Long Thread then led me to the lovely Alpha Mom and this fab tutorial on lettering herb pots.  Such a cute idea and a great way to use up all those scraps.

3.  Exploring the blogs of some of Alpha-mom's contributors led me to a debate I hadn't been aware of around advertising and blogging and finally to the virtual door of Keri Smith, blogger and author, whose books I have oogled many a time.  Her list of 100 ideas for creativity is fantastic.  My two favourite are:
    57. Do a morning collage
    93. Write your own definition of one of the following concepts, sitting, waiting, sleeping (without using the actual word.)

4.  Keri then sent me to Orangette where Molly posted a lovely entry about cake.  As I too can often be found thinking about cake, this post really resounded with me.  There is something about her style of infusing each recipe with a story that makes for very addictive reading.

5. Molly then led me to habit.  A blog where friends are sharing snippets from their day. I love the simplicity of the idea...

Which of course led me back to my own life, thinking about my own habits.

Ellis and I spend at least 30 minutes each morning painting and drawing...usually trains, sometimes cats, mostly just colour.  Colour is good and easy.

Bad habit: I lose my glasses every morning.  Without fail.
