Announcing Knit Camp!
Want to start the year learning a new craft?
Starting the 6th of January, we are going to get out the needles and (virtually) head off to Knit Camp!
What is it?
Just like Crochet Camp this summer, Knit Camp will be 4 weeks of FREE lessons and inspiration here at Slugs on the Refrigerator. We will have project-based knitting lessons. We will cover the basics. We will troubleshoot problems you may have. We will have interviews, giveaways and inspiration… all the while making super cute and useful items so you have something to show for all your work!

The course will cover 3 patterns, all designed to teach you the basics of knitting as you make them. Knit Camp is the joint effort of myself, Joanne Scrace and Libby Summers. We will pool our collective skills and experience to create an awesome course. Watch the blog for exclusive interviews with each of them.
Patterns will be available for download as they weeks go live and will be paired with photo tutorials to teach the skills you need to complete them.
What about Materials?
For those of you who want us to do the hard work for you, the full set of materials are on sale here for £35 plus shipping.
The full Knit Camp kit will include:
- 3 colours of Libby Summers' Fine Aran in the right amounts to make the 3 patterns.
- Hot Water Bottle
- Knitting Needles
- Tapestry Needle
- Printed A5 booklets of all of the patterns.
All items will be packaged in a giftable box with instructions for how to join in - perfect for surprising a crafty person on your list this holiday season.
There will be a limited number of kits available, so grab yours quick!
For those of you wanting to work from your stash or want to go pick your own materials, a list will be published approximately 1 week before we begin so you can go forth and gather your supplies for those of you who are more adventurous (or just have stash beyond life expectancy).
Can I give Knit Camp as a gift?
Yes! The reason we are launch so early is so you can buy the kit for someone on your Christmas list! THe kit will come in a beautiful box with a printed guide on how to join in the Knit Camp fun in January. A Christmas Gift and help with a New Year's Resolution all in one!
Will you ship outside of the UK?
Of course! Shipping options are included in the product listing. International orders will ship first to ensure your kit arrives in good time.
Do I have to be a beginner to join in the fun?
No way! We want to celebrate the beginners and the oldies! While some of the month will be about learning to knit, we will also have giveaways, interviews and look at more advanced techniques.
Where do I sign up?
Just like Crochet Camp, there is no formal sign up for Knit Camp. Lessons and patterns will be free and will start on Monday the 6th of January, but if you feel like it, grab a badge.
