A Life In the Making

Making isn't just something we do, it is who we are. From crochet and knitting to cheese, bread and mess, making is part of our every day.

We love bringing people together to learn new things - whether it be how to make your first crochet or knit stitch or if textiles aren't your jam, we are working on a programme of other skill sharing classes (including, well, jam)

We uprooted from city life to a small holding at the edge of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Over the last 3 years we have learned so much about the sheer stubbornness it takes to raise food and animals.

Why "Slugs on the Refrigerator"?

This blog started 10 years ago, when we were living in a tiny house next to the River Forth.  One day, I came downstairs to find 2 enormous slugs climbing up my refrigerator. I was so horrified, I called my husband to come home from work in Glasgow to get them off.  The next day I was looking for a blog name and Slugs on the Refrigerator was born. Try as I might over the last 10 years the name has stuck.
