The Homesteader’s annual 2.0

Honey and Hazel

Over the last 18 months or so, we have been quietly running an ambitious programme of online courses, virtual makealongs and an online community called The Homesteader’s Annual. It’s been quiet because we haven’t really spoken much about it - members finding their way there mostly by luck. I am not great at talking about these kinds of things and it is usually hidden half way down a page or mentioned only in passing.

But, I love the Homesteader’s Annual. It is really a collection of our best tips, greatest advice, hard-won skills and thought processes we put into our life here at Gartur. It is the culmination of our knowledge gathered from running a smallholding and living close to the seasons as we do.

It has evolved over the years, at first it was simply a way to access our collection of online courses, but now it is much more - a living breathing community of people who believe passionately in making as a way of life. In addition to our evergreen online courses, we focus on monthly themes, have monthly or bi-weekly zoom makealongs, share book recommendations and most importantly, cheer each other on as we dig in deep to making, growing, raising and cooking.

The Homesteader’s Annual is a bundle of online courses, makealongs and supporting content walk you through the various elements of smallholding and homesteading - from keeping poultry, growing a garden, seasonal living and all the way through to making your own cheese, soap and putting up food for winter.

The subscription includes:

  • Instant access to all 15 of our existing online courses and new courses for 2022 (spoiler alert: we will be adding courses on homebrewing & soil)

  • Access to our online monthly makealongs

  • A digital subscription to Life in the Making Quarterly

  • 20% discount code for all shop products and On Farm Events and Workshops.  And, you can use this discount as often during the year as you would like (not redeemable in conjunction with other promotional discounts).

  • Access to our Homesteader’s Annual online community. This is a community of people who want to roll up their sleeves and get hands on with their lives.

Together we are working to turn our households into units of production, rather than just units of consumption.

The courses are hosted on Mighty Networks - a comprehensive platform that allows us to host the community, live sessions and online courses all in one space. You will be sent login details via email when you purchase this subscription.
