Friday I'm In Love: Knitting Edition
Have you noticed the lack of knitting posts on the blog? Oh yes. I am having some knitting issues. Well one issue actually. The hoodie I have been knitting for the last 4 months for Georgia is taking AGES!! It is a very lovely, but rather dull pattern for the Jasper hoodie from Vintage Baby Knits. I keep plodding on, but I've not even gotten to the arm holes yet!!!
Of course being a growing girl, she has just about outgrown every other knitted thing. Except for this lovely gift from Cary in Alaska. I can not tell you how much we LOVE this wee jumper. She has it on every other day at least. It is cosy and soft and perfect for this Autumnal weather (wait, did I hear you say you are on the East Coast of North America/ South East England and it's really really hot? Well, you may have summer, but do you have bagpipers and deep fried haggis? I thought not...)
I am not going to give up on Jasper. I am, however, going to take a break from it to knit some of these for us girls. Its the first weekend in months where we have nothing more planned than a trip to the farmer's market. I will not be cleaning or cooking this weekend. I will only be knitting.
1. Norwegian Sweet Baby Cap - I've seen this hat a few times, but I am completely in love with the colours in this. I love stripes on babies. I have a range of colourful sock wool scraps and it may well become this...
2. Owlet is the first thing to go on my needles this weekend. I may stick with yellow for Georgia, as it really suits her and we are on a pink boycott. Depending on how quick it goes, I may knit one up for Ellis. He really would love a jumper and the kid's size is knit in bulky, so should be pretty quick. will probably have to do his in something EXTEREMELY washable as he can not stay clean. Ever. Any suggestions?
3. I have loved the Foliage hats since before I started knitting. They are knit in a bulky, so it should be pretty quick.
4. The 16 Cabled Slouchy Hat has been in my Ravelry queue for awhile, and I have the perfect yarn for it, but I don't think I have quite enough. Grrr...
But in the meanwhile, we will spend the cold, rainy days and weeks to come wrapping Georgia up in this.
