Workshops and Events

Its obviously the autumnal turn that brings out the "Back to School" feeling in me. Not only have I signed up for a load of new Skillshare classes, but I spent the beginning part of last week, planning a set of workshops for the next few months to take place here in the studio and elsewhere.

With the holiday season in mind, I have scheduled classes that can tech new skills that can *also* be used to cross items off of your to-do list!  Win win!

Granite Stitch Mitts from Hook, Stitch & Give (Kyle Books)

October 25th - Crochet for Beginners: Mitts and Mittens

Learn the basics of crochet and get started on making a sweet and simple pair of mitts (or mittens for the more ambitious).  More details here

First Day of School Socks from Hook, Stitch & Give (Kyle Books)

November 8th - Intermediate Crochet: Crochet Socks

There is nothing better than handmade socks.  This class is for intermediate crocheters and we will get you up to speed on the best techniques for socks, using one of the two sock patterns in Hook, Stitch & Give (book is free with the class!). More details here.

Linen Stars and Snowflakes from Hook, Stitch & Give (Kyle Books)

Saturday, December 6th - Christmas Crochet

Come and make festive decorations and learn new stitches! Festoon your house with gorgeous crochet stars, snowflakes and wreaths! More details here.

These three workshops are taking place here at the studio, near Port of Menteith, Stirlingshire.  Although, I am biased, its lovely here - with views out to the National Park, a cozy fire and as much homebaking and lunch as you can eat! Classes take place from 10am-4pm. Come an sit by the fire and crochet the day away!

Glasgow Country Living Fair 20th-23rd November

I will also be teaching again at the Glasgow Country Living Fair, where you will get a wee taster course in crochet and get to make this sweet little wreath decoration. Workshops aren't bookable, but I will be running the workshop every day at 11:30am.  More details here

Looking at next year, I am so excited to say that I will be teaching at Edinburgh Yarn Fest alongside my lovely Joanne! The list of teachers is awesome and I am so excited that we are among them!  Classes aren't bookable yet, but check out that schedule and get signed up to the newsletter so you will be the first to bagsy a spot.

And finally, I can't really talk events without mentioning that Blogtacular has announced its headliner....are you sitting down?  Grace Bonney from Design*Sponge will be joining us for Blogtacular 2015!  We have basically been on cloud 9 since she signed up!

You can book tickets here.

Phew! Enough promotion for today! I am off to spend the day dreaming up ways I can eat the BEST salsa ever (thanks Alison for the tip!).  Hoard your green tomatoes, make this and thank me later.
